September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

UpdatedMonday September 19, 2022 byJennifer Russo.

Every year, an estimated 250,000 new cases of cancer affect children under the age of 20 worldwide - that's 700 new kids affected every day, with the average age of diagnosis at 8 years old.  Yet, only less than 5% of the National Cancer Institute's budget is dedicated to childhood cancer research.

The Bellingham Falcons proudly advocate for children with cancer and are committed to raising awareness of this important cause.  To help raise awareness, we wear gold socks and gold cheer bows during the month of September.  We encourage getting involved and making a difference.
